  • With the passage of Senate Bill 21-151 (PDF), the General Assembly enacted the Literacy Curriculum Transparency Act. The act amends the "Colorado READ Act" to require each local education provider to submit the following information to the department of education and requires the department to post the information on its website:


  • Legacy Point is implementing Benchmark Workshop as a core reading curriculum beginning the 22-23 SY. This will be used K-5 and provides a comprehensive approach to teaching literacy. Detailed information can be found here.

  • Supplemental reading instruction is provided electronically via iReady in a differentiated approach. i-Ready Reading is an online program that helps students of all ages become thoughtful, analytical readers. ... Its personalized instruction adjusts the lesson path to meet every reader at their individual level, enabling teachers to provide a personalized learning experience for each student.

  • Interventions are provided using Literacy FootprintsOrton Gillingham, and iReady Instruction based on skills needed.

  • As of February 22, 2022 LPE has 17% or 8 of 46 First Grade students  on READ plans.  We have 28% or 16 of 58 in Second Grade, and 24% or 10 or 42 for third grade on READ plans.
